颱風距離台灣還有240公里遠，CNN氣象專家Kevin Corriveau到底說些什麼？
他有說這是超級颱風嗎？他有說這不是中度颱風嗎？以下是天成翻譯公司聽打他申明的內容：

第一，他從頭到尾沒說颱風是super, strong,.. 他的形容是huge，指的是尺寸上的龐大翻譯所以正確的翻譯是莫拉克是個「大颱風」，或「巨大的颱風」。人家從沒說莫拉克是個超等颱風！憑據結合報8/11〈學者：誰敢一入手下手 雨量就估兩千〉（http://udn.com/NEWS/NATIONAL/NATS6/5070234.shtml）台大傳授陳泰然透露表現「ＣＮＮ說的應當是「局限超大」的颱風，「超級」只是白話上的形容」。真的說對了翻譯
第三，他切實其實準確預告到南部的水患，和上岸時週六早上的慘況翻譯這是因為他看到外圍強烈的雲雨區。他看到了，我們的防災官員看到了嗎？
最後，台大教授陳泰然說「誰敢一開始就把颱風的雨量估到兩千，拿科學來由說服我！」其實今後見之明來看，其實就是說若一小我能事前科學地預估颱風的雨量到兩千，必定是能斟酌到颱風撞上中心山脈後會慢慢走，又引進良多西南氣流等等。那若他有這本領，必定是有科學的來由預測工作會這樣發生翻譯而事前，沒有人能有科學的來由猜測工作會如許産生，那就不要怪景象形象局了。
其次，Corriveau預測的雨量是1000mm，比實際的也少了一半，這與結合報8/11〈學者：誰敢一最先 雨量就估兩千〉中報道的：「景象形象局在一起頭就把雨量猜測到八百、一千毫米，在陳泰然眼中，『已算是很敢報了』」。是一樣的。
馬總統：翻譯公司讀完《混沌》（世界出書）這本長銷又暢銷的科普書之前，請不要再隨意诘問诘責景象形象局了。從納莉颱風到莫拉克颱風，九年了，可以停了。景象形象局不是小說裡的諸葛亮，你也不能期望身邊會有個小說裡的諸葛亮啊。
